Sopot Chamber Choir CONTINUO
Sopot Chamber Choir was created in October 1986 as the Gdansk University Chamber Choir. Since its beginning, the Choir has performed over 380 concerts to much acclaim within Poland and abroad (Germany, Netherlands, Spain, France, USSR, Sweden, Denmark, Italy etc.) and often successfully competed in International Choral Festivals (e.g. Two-time winner of the First Prize at the National Sacred Music Festival in Rumia, Poland, high acclaim of the jury in Hjorring, Denmark, Jury prizes “Tres bien” at Montreaux, Switzerland, Jury Favour Prize and Host Prize at International Festival of Orthodox Music in Hajnówka, Poland).

The repertoire consists of á capella and accompanied works, including pieces by Mozart, Rossini, Brahms, Pawluskiwicz, Ramirez, Vivaldi, Nowowiejski and Preizner.
In September 2000 Anna Fiebig - the excellent choirmaster and the professor of Gdańsk Music Academy became the conductor of Sopot Chamber Choir. She is the person of huge pedagogical and choral experience, incl. Polish Chamber Choir “Schola Cantorum Gedanensis”.
With a new conductor, Continuo collects new prizes. In June 2002 - Second Prize for Sacred Music at International Choir Festival in Olomouc /Czech Republic/ and in October 2003 - two Diplomi d'Argento - Silver Diplomas in Riva del Garda /Italy/ for Sacred and Folk Music.
In July 2005 the choir represented Polish music in 6th International Choral Festival in Puebla /Mexico/.
„CONTINUO” often performs in cooperation with local choirs and orchestras and has taken part in charity concerts, welcoming Pope to Sopot, and recording several CDs.
The choir consists of about 25 people of various professions united by their love for music and singing.
